Copper is a trace mineral needed for the metabolism of fat and iron and it is a component of collagen, a protein in bones and skin. It is good for the immune system and a healthy heart. Good food sources are offal, meat and shellfish. Bread, other cereals, nuts, seeds and vegetables also contain some of this mineral. The RDA is 1.2mg a day for both men and women.
