Holistic Massage
The term Holistic interprets as a treatment related to the whole person, body, mind and spirit. Usually a Holistic Practitioner is someone who has trained in Swedish massage but whose training has incorporated a broader view of the human body and mind. They are not only concerned with the physical benefits of the treatment but also take into account the psychological and spiritual benefits too, by working with the energy flows that can be sensed through the hands on and off the body, as well as with muscle, tissue and bone.
Holistic massage tends to be more gentle and flowing than other forms of massage, however deep pressure can be applied to problem areas through gentle but firm pressure applied with the fingers and thumbs. Relaxing music is normally played and aromatherapy oils can also be used to aid the healing quality of the treatment and the environment, the whole emphasis of this type of treatment is for the patient to feel nurtured and supported. This is an extremely relaxing treatment and can really help stress related problems and maintain good health.
