On The Lizard in Cornwall, Trelowarren is an historic 1000 acre private estate. It offers self catering houses of unparalleled comfort and style whilst incorporating all the latest ‘green technology’. Rainwater harvesting systems, super high levels of insulation, CO2 neutral emissions, organic paint, eco dishwashers and washing machines all keeping Trelowarren safe for the future.
All our self catering houses offer the freedom to walk the 1,000 acre estate and will have the use of the heated outdoor swimming pool, the tennis court, and from 2008, a sauna, steam room and hot tubs, all forming part of the new leisure centre.
Our kitchens are beautifully designed and equipped with real cooks in mind. Woodburners are installed in all of our houses making sure you can relax whatever the weather and the sitting rooms all have hi-fi, satellite TV, DVD and VHS players.
And because we know that you have to sleep well to enjoy your holiday, the beds are big and comfortable, and there is plenty of pressurized hot water.
Our housekeeper contacts all guests prior to their arrival to arrange which beds to ‘make-up’ as well as to take your initial shopping orders so that you don’t have to go to a supermarket as soon as you arrive.
With such a large choice of property styles and sizes in a beautiful, historic country estate, Trelowarren has everything that a holiday in Cornwall should provide.
Trelowarren also offers the unique possibility of Timeshare on 14 cottages. A highly flexible agreement allows you to fix the cost of your holidays for 30 years, to enjoy - or to let, exchange, gift or sell your ownership. More even than that, though, it offers the dimension of a private, listed estate and award-winning accommodation of the highest standard, restored or constructed on green principles. To buy a holiday home in this part of Cornwall - at the head of The Lizard, near the Helford River - would be hugely expensive. Instead, you can have a place to call your own, at your favourite holiday time, on the doorstep of all that is beautiful and exciting here, without the costs of permanent ownership. The estate also offers a Guaranteed Buy Back option on all new weeks purchased.
At the heart of the Trelowarren Estate you will find the New Yard Restaurant, beautifully converted from an old carriage-house, occupying one side of the 18th century stable-yard, near the Estate Office. Within six months of arriving at Trelowarren’s New Yard Restaurant, Chef Greg Laskey had added two AA rosettes to a list of plaudits for both the food and the wine list. Starting with a late Continental breakfast, the New Yard Restaurant serves lunches from midday, teas - including Cornish cream and preserves, home-made saffron and heavy-cake - from 2.30pm and dinner after 7pm. The menu changes with the seasons, beginning in February and running till the 1st January.
Look out for special offers which include a dinner at the New Yard Restaurant with two-night inspection visits to sample the timeshare or a discount voucher with short breaks in our self-catering accommodation.
