Wools of Cumbria Carpets Ltd. www.wocc.co.uk offer environmentally friendly carpet made from 100% pure new wool in a twist pile texture using the fleece from Herdwick and Swaledale sheep native to the upland fells of Cumbria and the Yorkshire Dales.
The yarn is washed but no chemical dyes are used to produce the 5 natural shades in the grey spectrum. The carpet is available in 4m wide broadloom (5m wide to order minimum 75sq m) or 50cm sq carpet tiles usually from stock. From September 2010 we are able to offer a designer stripe in three formats using the undyed natural Herdwick and Swaledale wool. To complement the carpet WOCC offer a pure new wool underfelt made from the same fleece, no rag pulp or waste carpet fibre is used.
A velvet pile carpet can be made to special order in 4 or 5m wide for a minimum quantity 75sq m. with a delivery time approximatly 6 weeks. Special order velvet and twist pile carpets meeting the minimum order can be natural undyed wool or overdyed to a customers own colour and pile weight requirements.
Manufactured from field to warehouse in less than 100 miles from the centre of the Lake District this carpet has extremely strong green credentials.
