INTERNATIONAL NATURAL EYESIGHT AWARENESS WEEK (www.ineaw.org) (19th - 25th October, 2008) and FIRST BRITISH NATURAL EYESIGHT CONFERENCE (www.bnec.org.uk) 24th-26th October 2008

Vision problems are multiplying at epidemic proportions in our society - not only for adults, but also for children - and the object of this Awareness Week and the first British Natural Eyesight Conference is to make the public know that there is an alternative to glasses, contact lenses and laser therapy to improve eyesight. Few people are aware of the option of improving eyesight naturally. All that most of us know is that when our eyesight deteriorates, we can choose between either (stronger) glasses, contact lenses, or taking the chance on the currently popular laser surgery industry. People with an interest in natural vision education and for people working in the field are invited to come to the beautiful setting of Felden Lodge to share technique and experience. The theme of this year’s conference is how the work pioneered by William H. Bates in the early 20th Century is being developed and used today.

The Conference and Natural Eyesight Awareness Week both aim - • increase the public awareness that there is an alternative to glasses, contact lenses and eye surgery for the correction of eyesight problems • promote that natural vision improvement is available to everyone and for every age - even those with good sight which can be maintained and even improved • improve communication and research in the field At the conference we will explore rest, relaxation and palming, the healing power of the sun, movement in vision, the Alexander Technique and eyesight, an Optometrist’s view, nutrition and discussion of who the work is for, also for people to bring their questions to one of the Q and A sessions.

Speakers include Peter Mansfield, Elizabeth Abraham, Richard Hobday, Nina Hutchings, Anthony Attenborough, Kevin Wooding, Nimala Pankhania, Alice Bradshaw and Aileen Whiteford. Before and after the conference there will be inspiring, practical workshops exploring natural eyesight improvement.
